History (Original Model)

After the first races with the Ferrari 312P Spyder version, Ferrari presented 1969 a new Ferrari 312P version at the end of April. This new version was designed from the very begining as a Berlinetta with a fixed roof achieving a far better aerodynamics.

At the race in Spa-Francorchamps, the 312P finished in 2nd place. In the following races, such as the 1,000 km of the Nürburgring, and the 24h of Le Mans, where Ferrari used the 312P as well, bad luck struck. The Ferraris had to retire from the races because of accidents and technical problems.

So even if the 312P Berlinetta was not one of the most successful Ferrari race cars, it was definitely one of the most beautiful racecars that ever hit the race track.
